Working With Documents

Documents are a part of every job. Documentation can streamline the workflow of projects by providing clear instructions and keeping track of the status and decisions and keeping track of the smallest and major details that make up the overall picture. Documentation is often neglected yet it is crucial to the growth and success of any business or organization.

Traditionally the term “document” has been used to mean printed texts however the techniques of documenting are now being expanded beyond that. Any representation of information that is physical could be considered a document for what is validation and why is it important instance, photos, drawings, and videos are as much documents as a written report or database report.

A document can be structured as an article, semi-structured such as newspaper articles or books, or unstructured like an unwritten note. Documents can also be classified as classified as confidential, private or public.

Whatever their form or structure most documents created within an organisation adhere to certain conventions standards and guidelines that are universally accepted. This ensures that all new documents are identical in form and basic structure which creates greater transparency and consistency within the organization’s document ecosystem as well as workflows.
